Saturday’s Wireless festival billing saw multiple powerhouses from a host of genres take centre stage in Finsbury Park. From an electric Gunna performance to the long awaited return of J Hus, the occasion did not disappoint.

After early DJ sets from the likes of JoceWavy and Crazy Cousinz, Gunna took to the stage and delivered a slick performance that drew in the majority of the festival crowd. Hits such as ‘one of wun’, ‘Top Off’, and ‘fukumean’ whipped the audience into a frenzy, demonstrating the rapper’s star quality and stage presence.

It was then time for East London’s finest, J Hus, to make his long awaited return to live performance. He certainly did not disappoint, playing hits that spanned his discography, showing off his longevity whilst also bringing out fan favourite Mostack. From old school classics ‘Friendly’ and ‘Dem Boy Paigon’ all the way through to new hits ‘Massacre’ and ‘Who Told You’, Hus proved that he is one of the UK’s greatest and cemented himself in that position.

The genres then switched with a set from Asake, who was backed by The Compozers and showcased why he is one of the most exciting names in world music right now. This was before a closing performance from 21 Savage, who like Gunna was able to demonstrate huge crowd control, especially on his 2024 single ‘Redrum’, and ‘Rich Flex’.

The day provided the audience with some monumental artists who backed up their respective reputations with strong, well thought out performances. From East London to Atlanta via Lagos, the talent on show displayed enough variety and musical diversity to keep the day entertaining for all.
