A pair of Metropolitan Police officers have been charged over photographs taken at the scene of a double murder last summer.
Pc Deniz Jaffer, 47, and Pc Jamie Lewis, 32, have been charged with misconduct in public office, after taking and subsequently sharing pictures of the murder scene of sisters Nicole Smallman, 27, and Bibaa Henry, 46.
The two sisters who were fatally stabbed at Fryent Country Park in Wembley, north-west London, in the early hours of June 6 had been in the park with a group of friends from 7pm to celebrate Bibaa’s 46th birthday.
Met commander Paul Brogden said prior he was “horrified and disgusted” by the actions of the officers and that they were “morally reprehensible”.
Jaffer and Lewis will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday May 27 for their first hearing.
