Tiggs Da Author & Thunderdrum Deliver ‘Ukombozi’

Ukombozi (Original Game Soundtrack) is the official album accompanying the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. The project is a collaboration between the acclaimed production team Thunderdrum and British-Tanzanian singer/songwriter Tiggs Da Author.

During the game’s development, Ubisoft and Thunderdrum sought an East African artist to authentically represent one of the game’s protagonists—the legendary African samurai, Yasuke. Tiggs Da Author emerged as the perfect choice, not only as a gifted musician but also as a native Swahili speaker, bringing an unparalleled level of authenticity to the soundtrack.

The result is a genre-blending body of work that captures the game’s immersive world. Ukombozi fuses Morricone-inspired guitars, East African rhythms, traditional Japanese flutes, and psych-rock instrumentals, showcasing Thunderdrum’s mastery in both guitar-driven production and cinematic scoring. Meanwhile, Tiggs Da Author steps into bold new territory, marking his first official release performed in his native language.

The focus track for the project is “UKOMBOZI Pt I”, setting the tone for an unforgettable sonic experience that mirrors the rich storytelling of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.
