SBTV Founder & Music Entrepreneur Jamal Edwards Passes Away Aged 31

Entrepreneur, author, director and DJ Jamal Edwards has passed away at the tender age of 31.

Founder of the iconic SBTV media platform, Edwards is widely credited as a pioneer in the UK music industry helping to launch the careers of artists like Dave, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Krept & Konan, Rita Ora and countless others.

The BBC reported that Edwards’ media company had confirmed the news to them.

His involvement in youth development deepened when in 2019 he founded Jamal Edwards Delve (JED) a grassroots youth-centre project which refurbished youth centres in Acton having received funding from Google and the Wellcome Trust.

Edwards also released an ebook titled, ‘Self Belief: The Vision: How To Be a Success on Your Own Terms’ which went on to become a number 1 bestselling ebook series.

Despite the premature nature of his death Jamal Edwards will be remembered as groundbreaker who touched the lives of many, helping to platform and kick into motion the thriving scene we see today.
