Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock has died at the age of 30 after a shooting in South Los Angeles.

The shooting, at a Roscoe’s House of Chicken ’N Waffles, reportedly took place at around 1pm on Monday.

Rock – real name Rakim Allen was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead just before 2 p.m. local time.

Los Angeles police Capt. Kelly Muniz told the L.A. Times that a suspect showed a firearm inside the Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles and demanded items from the victim before shooting him and fleeing.

LAPD investigators are examining security video from inside the restaurant to identify the shooter who is still at large.

TMZ reported PnB relocated from Philadelphia to L.A. after signing his deal with Atlantic almost a decade ago.

He recently discussed the dangers rappers face being in LA.

His hit 2016 single “Selfish,” reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 while his collaborative effort with Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci, “Everyday We Lit,” peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest-charting song of his career.

He also collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Chris Brown, Young Thug, Kodak Black and Meek Mill.

He is survived by his two children and girlfriend.

Rest in Peace.
