Emerging UK rapper MKAY has dropped his new track ‘Enemies’, produced by Zel (Central Cee, Lil Tecca, Arrdee). The track is out now and available to stream.

Following on from his most recent freestyle ‘Next Up’, ’Enemies’ is a up-tempo track where MKAY examines his relationships. Rapped over a Latin-inspired beat, MKAY delivers a melodic drill flow expressing his thoughts and vulnerability via his relatable bars.

The slick visuals directed by Toxic (Giggs, Sneakbo), follows MKAY on the streets of Canvey Island surrounded by his comrades and luxury vehicles. The video is available to watch here.

In 2021, MKAY dropped  ‘Frozen Gold’, which has garnered over 15 million Spotify streams to date and is the track that catapulted him to a major spot on the UK’s rap scene, leading to flurry of label interest before inking a major record deal with Atlantic Records.

MKAY’s musical journey began at the tender age of 5 when he was gifted a small electrical piano, a gift which enabled him to become a skilled grade eight piano player. Growing up in Essex he was easily able to explore different musical genres and whilst at school discovered his love for jazz, regularly listening to legends like Erroll Gardener, Duke Ellington and Dean Martin. With access to school and college studios MKAY began learning the ropes, allowing him to excel in self-production and mixing. Aware of the soaring rap scene he began to immerse himself in the sound of UK drill, implementing his own twist on the genre and going viral with a simple freestyle upload entitled ‘Short Story’, sampling the infamous Sagun & Shilo record ‘I’ll Keep You Safe’. The post amassed over 100K views in a matter of days on a then unknown artist.

MKAY is one of the UK’s freshest and exciting rappers and definitely one to watch.
