15 Mar 2021
The 2021 Grammys hosted by Trevor Noah took place on Sunday (14 March) in what can only described as a trying effort to resurrect musics premiere night.
The Staples Center in Los Angeles despite a modified format due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, saw musics brightest stars grace its floors once again.
Performances from Beyonce, Billie Eillish, BTS, Doja Cat & Lil Baby capped off the 63rd annual ceremony. Kaytranada became the first black artist to win best dance/electronic album with Bubba, and Beyoncé became the Grammys most decorated female artist earning her 28th award with Wizkid in the best music video category for Brown skin girl.
Burna Boy not to be out done by his fellow Nigerian scooped the award for Best Global Music Album with Twice as tall winning his first Grammy alongside UK producer Jae5.
Meg the Stallion also had a night to remember as the 26-year-old rapper, was crowned Best New Artist – becoming the first female rapper to do so in two decades. Her song also“Savage” took Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
