The Chart Update: Fredo Debuts At #2
5 Feb 2021
As we settle into the new year, music returns back to its normal activity. Following the quiet time between Christmas and now, artists have busted up the silence and new releases are beginning to roll in. We’ve recently had the release of highly-anticipated projects from prominent British rap acts, Fredo and Chip.
So, how have they performed?
Both rappers have earned a spot in the Official Album Charts’ top ten table. Whilst, Fredo’s ‘Money Can’t Buy Happiness’ album lands the #2 spot on the chart list, Chip’s ‘Snakes & Ladders’ genre-bending mixtape sees 7th position. Nothing short of impressive from the ‘grime scene saviour’ who’s projects have always seen a top 20 — and above — position!
Congratulations are in order for Harrow’s trapper-turned-rapstar, who has, this week, taken the Official Singles chart by storm! With the exception of two tracks, all records on Fredo’s album appear on the chart listing. The dynamic “Money Talks” collaboration single with Dave lands at #3, while another three singles — including collaborations with Pop Smoke, Young Adz and Summer Walker — are scattered within the top 30.
It’s an astounding first week performance for the acclaimed ‘Money Can’t Buy Happiness’ album, proving the project worthy of its #2 debut position on the album chart. A batch of entires, extracted from the album’s track-list, are spread out further into the top 100 list with the likes of “Biggest Mistake” at #34 and “Blood In My Eyes” at #37.
Last year, our Chart Updates saw the likes of Headie One topping the charts and the momentum isn’t slowing down this year. Keep it locked here for a look into how our biggest talents are performing!
