The Angola-born and North London-residing TikTok sensation, NDotz, first stepped onto the scene as a dancer before switching the stage for the booth. Formerly known for his dancing in Russ Millions’ smash-hit “Gun Lean”, the London native built a small but hungry fan-base for his dancing before touring up and down the country with Russ. Since then, he has gained over 122,000 followers on TikTok and houses a handful of playful bangers.

Mixtape Madness got the chance to catch up with NDotz over Zoom for a quick chat about his journey thus far, going on tour with Russ Millions, and his latest single “Check”. Tap in below to see what he had to say!

Talk me through your introduction to music and how this whole journey began for you? ivermectin in dogs for whipworm

I started off as a dancer. I always had a passion for music, but people would say I was always better at dancing! I didn’t believe so, but I just carried on and started dancing in big rap videos. For example, Russ Millions, I was in that and another one for Tion Wayne. When I went on tour with Russ and watched him perform, that’s when I realised that I wanted to be performing, not just dancing!

How did you find the tour? Was it a mad experience?

Yeah! It was the best experience; it was so lit! I built a little fan base off dancing, so when I went on stage and saw people going “Look, that’s him! That’s the dancer!” I was thinking “Woah!”. Imagine if I could switch it to “Oh my days, that’s NDotz!”, it has to be something I can do by myself!

What kind of artists have you grown up listening to?

I was always listening to American music. For example, I started off with Michael Jackson and from there I started going to artists like Tyga; my favourite artist right now is Toosi, I want to bring the American flavour here!

You’ve just listed a bunch of artists there; would you say that any of those helped to shape your sound at all?

I think they do help but I like to make it my own thing! I take their idea, bring it to the UK and make it my own thing. I’m always on top of trends, as soon as there is a new artist, I’m alert of it and I’ll try hop on that new trend.

You kinda blew up on TikTok before you released “Check (You Know)”, how was handling the pressure from TikTok to release the song?

It’s crazy because, “Check” wasn’t the first song to blow up on TikTok! Another song I did called “HOODLOVESTORY” was. I posted it on TikTok and did a dance to it and it went extremely viral! From there, I knew I had to do the same thing with “Check”, which was hard because I was also in the process of getting my deal signed. It was a lot of pressure, but we made it work!

How did this single come about?

This was around the second lockdown around February times. I was writing a lot of songs at home, and I wrote this one. It wasn’t originally called “Check”, but that part was the bit that went viral on TikTok, so we changed it to the chorus and made it work!

In turn with the release, you signed with Seven Twenty Records. What does this mean for your career now that you’ve signed? Have you always wanted to be signed?

I didn’t know much at the start as an artist, but over time I’ve got to learn about signing and deals. It’s a good thing it did come across, I was interested in it and Seven Twenty have helped a lot! The next releases are just going to be bigger and better!

We’ve only heard a snippet of your sound so far with a handful of releases. How would you go about describing your sound? ivermectin pill for fleas

Hmm! From what people have heard, they will most likely say I am an Afro-swing and R&B artist, but I feel like I can touch anything and make it a thing!

What’s your creative process like?

It’s very quick! If it’s the right instrumental, the words will just come to my head, and I will pick them out. I can come up with a song in around 5 minutes.

Putting the music aside, what do you like to do for fun?

I’m still in college and that takes up a lot of my time! When I’m not in college, I like to be with my friends and family. If I’m not doing that, I will be drawing –

Oh really!

Yeah! I like drawing, its fun! Even when I’m bored, I beatbox! *laughs*

Do you?! *laughs*

Yeah! I’m alright at it, I’ve heard better! *laughs*

You’ve just said you’re still in college. How are you finding balancing everything? revectina 6mg preço

I can balance it really well! When people see me in college, people know who I am – I don’t act boujee or nothing like that! I am a very open person; I can talk to everyone! I could meet you today and we could become best friends, you know? Because of my vibe, they forget who I am outside of college – it’s not that hard to balance!

What’s a song in your playlist, or an artist that you listen to, that supporters wouldn’t expect?

Oooo, that’s a very good one! I would say H.E.R. – she’s cold!

What else can we expect to see from you this year?

This year I’m just working! Next year, that’s when I’m going to be shaking things up!
