As the leaves fall and the colder months settle in, British-Nigerian singer-songwriter and musician Ego Ella May delivers FIELDNOTES: COMPLETE, the culmination of her well-received FIELDNOTES EP series. This new project features the reflective and heartwarming single ‘Winter Sun’, alongside a bonus track, ‘Miss You’.

The artist shares:

“Winter Sun is about how you feel when the sun finally comes out after days of grey, dull skies during the season. It’s about the warmth kissing your face and how everything seems okay once the sun comes out—it’s the little things. I made it with Lvther at Brixton Studios, and it must have been a cold, dark day when we were just wishing for brighter days to come. I’m excited to finally wrap up the project this way before moving on to album number two next year,”

With FIELDNOTES: COMPLETE, Ego Ella May continues to explore her signature genre-blending style, fusing R&B, Neo-Soul, and Jazz to create a sound uniquely her own. Her critically acclaimed debut album, Honey For Wounds, introduced listeners to soul-stirring melodies paired with poignant themes of self-healing, protest, love, and loss. Ego’s music has resonated with audiences and critics alike, solidifying her as a vital voice in contemporary music.

The track ‘Undone’ from the earlier FIELDNOTES PT III was featured in the second episode of the acclaimed SKY/Peacock TV series The Day of the Jackal. This year, Ego Ella May made her Canadian debut on the main stage of the Montreal Jazz Festival and sold out her first headline show at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s in London. Her efforts have earned her a nomination for Best Jazz Act at the 2025 MOBO Awards.

Ego Ella May wrote, performed, and co-produced FIELDNOTES: COMPLETE, working with a diverse lineup of producers including LVTHER, WU-LU, Dougie Stu, Sam Posener, Blue Lab Beats, Beau Diako, Shivum Sharma, Geordan Reid-Campbell, EUN, and Flwr Chyld. As she prepares for her next chapter with her second album set for release in 2025, fans can look forward to more of her evocative, genre-crossing sound that continues to push boundaries and touch hearts.
